Do you live in the neighborhood? We really need your help. It's a great way to meet your neighbors! You also learn what to do in case of an emergency and know that others are there to help you too. Please contact either SeanPatty or KimberlySean or come to any of our meetings.

Walkie-Talkie Emergency Channel:
Set all walkie-talkies to channel 8.11 -- this is the channel our neighborhood uses to communicate with each other during drills and emergencies:

set walkie-talkies to "7.0" = 8.11

1st Steps in case of an Emergency (includes Emergency Meeting Place location):
Before you go to the meeting place please do the following in case of an emergency...

1. Injured? Check yourself and others in your house for injuries.
2. Small fire? Yes, put out with fire extinguisher or contact another neighbor or the Utility Control Team.
3. Smell gas? Yes, then turn off your gas valve outside your house (if you don't know how the Utility Control Team will do this for you).
4. Concerned about water leaks? If you see water in your house or if a high magnitude earthquake please turn your off the water inside your house at the main valve.*
5. Electrical panel shutoff? If you think there might be an electrical surge and it's dry around where the electrical panel is (standing water and electricity don't mix well), shut off your electricity.*
6. HELP / OK sign -- place in your window or door where it will be visible from the street.
7. Safety clothing -- Put on sturdy shoes, a hardhat, safety glasses, gloves and comfortable clothing.
8. Get equipment to bring to Emergency Meeting Place -- your emergency pack, a flashlight, and first aid kit.
9. Fire Extinguisher -- place your fire extinguisher on the sidewalk. 10. Meet at Ericks house (Emergency Meeting Site)
10. Go to neighborhood meeting place (Erick's house)

*Main and back-up emergency shelter and 1st aide houses should try to keep electrical and water on if possible.
